Event Details

You are invited to join Southeast Clean Energy Resource Teams (SE CERT) to visit Norm & Mary Erickson's solar-powered greenhouse and hazelnut farm.  We'll learn about the details of this innovative greenhouse (and hazelnuts, of course!), which includes technologies such as solar thermal and energy efficient heat exchange/distribution systems.  Join us for this free event to learn how the farm of SE CERT Steering Committee Norm, and his wife Mary, is benefiting from clean energy and how you can do the same on your farm, greenhouse, or small business!

To join this free event, just click on the green "Register" button above.

Directions to the farm:

The address is 1186 W. Lakewood Ave., also known as Wabasha County 9.

Highway 61 runs along Lake Pepin's west side.

Highway 63 intersects Hwy 61 downtown as it comes in from Rochester to the south.

Downtown Lake City has two traffic lights, one at the intersection of 63 and 61 and another a couple of blocks down river.

Go southeasterly along the lake on Hwy 61 a block or so past the sailboat marina (now nearly empty) and watch for County 9 (white sign) or the W. Lakewood Ave. street sign.

Turn away from the lake and travel for about a mile.

The road will cross the RR tracks, pass the Bluff View Elementary school and ball fields.

The farm starts with the pine windbreak at the end of the ball fields.

Our driveway is a couple of hundred yards farther, on the right. If you cross the creek you just passed us.

You can see the orchard and buildings using Google Map's satellite view. ZIP is 55041.
